Heigh ho...

Not that I look for meaning in my toilet. Nor that there's graffiti on its walls. Not yet, anyway. Though I admit the bathroom can be a strangely ideal place for rumination sometimes.

I remember the graffiti I used to see in school toilets. Something as trite as Yvonne luvs Joel scratched on the wall can hold a profound, mysterious meaning -- at least for the person who wrote it.

The things I see, feel and hear stay etched in my mind sometimes, and I'll be damned if I know what they mean; sometimes they bring even more confusion instead of enlightenment. But for better or for worse they become a part of me -- mine -- even if they're just graffiti in the greater scheme of things.

Oh, don't mind me. I'm just feeling grumpy.

I don't encounter much graffiti on Filipino toilets. But I am not an expert in this field. I try to avoid public toilets all together (germ phobia) (and family members are not allowed to put graffiti on the walls of our bathroom at home).

I encounter more graffiti on public toilets in the West. They are quite gross if not plain disgusting. Never saw any CR quote that could inspire me.
But yes, if I was a sociology student I might opt to make a paper about toilet quotes... no doubt it would make great literature... ;-)

Anyway, relax. Tomorrow is Friday !

Now that's a fun idea, Sidney...take photos of toilet graffiti you see in Europe. Not suitable for your Sari Sari Store photoblog though.

I am relaxed. Just grumpy. :-D

Hope your week is going great.

Yes, graffiti in toilets is popular here, which is why they now put newspapers in frames to read or even flat screens to watch... keep em busy I guess is the solution

Hey, you're allowed to be grumpy. It's good practice for menopause. Thanks for being a good cheerleader for me, even though you may feel grumpy. It means a lot. gale

Your post reminds me of the graffiti I've seen in the school toilets when I was still in junior and high school. It's vandalism but they don't seem to care.

Ah. I hope your grumpiness has gone away.

(:

You're allowed to be grumpy, Miss Lizza. We're all grumpy after The Dark and Stormy Meme. I think it put a spell on the blogosphere.

At least that's my humble pencil skirt opinion. But what do I know?

Just heard thunder. Gotta go.

Because of this post, I remember myself way back in 4th yr high school as I wrote "di ko naperfet ang exam sa Math! nakakainis!" on one of the school's toilet cubicle. hehe!

People find it fun to express their feelings thru graffiti on toilet walls, that's why I also consider toilet walls as freedom boards where anyone can express what they think and feel. That's too ancient!

Now we have blogging! No need to write on public walls.

Bond: Flat screen TV's in the public restrooms? Neat! Maybe they should also put laptops so people can blog.

Gem: Practice for menopause? Ohhh...that's still way, way into the future, I hope.

I'm not as active as the others when it comes to the UCS. That shall be remedied!

Kyels: Vandalism, ah yes. But graffiti sounds so much more acceptable. :-)

Still grumpy.

Mimi: A lot! Oh, and don;t give Frank the bread and water treatment in the dungeon. He hasn't escaped, haven't seen him around here. *crosses fingers behind back*

Nice: Para kang pinay Hermione, haha. When I was in high school, yung math test paper ko ang puno ng graffiti. Lalo na pag geometry! I remember my geom teacher holding up one of my test papers and saying something like "Test paper ito, hindi page ng sketchbook!" Puro doodles lang ang ginawa ko kasi hindi ko ma-prove ang mga dapat i-prove. I am so missing the math gene, among other things.

I love grumpy! What can I do to annoy you? ........... ummmmm. Splash on the floor and leave the lid up? or throw my dirty clothes on the floor? or talk drivel while you're trying to read the denouement of a great book? Take your pick and GRUMP - fantastic.

You know, it's a proven fact that we get more things done when we're grumpy than when we're happy.

That's probably why I'm so happy most of the time...I'm too lazy to be grumpy!!

It is wrong that you should be so non-cloddish when you’re grumpy. Such smoothness in prose in not a symptom of grumpiness my mislead friend. But now that you speak of bathrooms, I must share with you that all my most cutting-edge inventions have been thought of on the bog. Like the onion-cutter undersea goggle that doesn’t allow your eyes to water when you… or the platform cycle where you place your couch, tv and umbrella on a platform – which is set on four wheels that are linked to a pedal… and so on. I was quite a little scientist – in those fond days when one crapping session could afford three straight hours of pure, unadulterated brain orgy. Lizza, there must be a reason why we’ve a soul connection?

grumpy or not, you're still the cutest gal in the phillipines :-)

The human urge to write on walls is one of our most ancient characteristics.

I remember seeing what possibly was a rare specimen of Female graffiti on a new freeway overpass -- a couple of flowers and some hearts drawn big. Actually was an improvement to the place, IMHO.

I want to know WHO wants to stay in a public toilet long enough to scratch out a poem to begin with? Much less drawing a penis with the words "suck me" over them...

Hmm.. 'Toilet humour' in a sense.

My fave specimen of loo-ffiti was something I had read in school.
It was long piece of non-sense text followed by 'Have u come here to **** or read"!

I dig well done graffiti, but then again I like cottage cheese on a baloney sandwich. Cheers Lizza.

This is the longest grump in history young Lizza.

Thanks, everyone. I wasn't murderous-suicidal grumpy. Just blah grumpy. *grumble grumble*

All is well. Carry on.

I kind of like grafitti, if it has some degree of cleverness. Not the "so-and-so sux" variety.

I stopped liking grafitti after I got in trouble for spray painting on the side of Mr. Jingle Jangle's Grocery Mart.

Damn grafitti ;-)
