Pretty P's?

My introspective blog buddy, Kiyotoe, tagged me with the Seven P's meme a gazillion years ago. I'm supposed to list seven words that start with P and say how they relate to me.

So here are seven P words from off the top of my head.

pizza
phantasmagoric
preternatural
pipino
paardenlul
pyramid
Peter Piper

Now let's see how I can find a correlation between these P's and me.

  • Pizza. Delectably full of yummy goodness. Lots of varieties available. Until you have too much of it and feel like throwing it all up. Yep, that can be me sometimes. I like pizza in many of its variations, and I like myself in my myriad manifestations (well, most of the time, anyway).
  • Phantasmagoric. Something that's like an illusion, where figures are ever changing. There are days when my moods are mercurial (hey, maybe there should be a Seven M's tag too) -- confusing the hell out of some people...and me too. I'm sure there are aspects of me that even I haven't discovered, and I'm vaccillating between dread and anticipation at the thought of their eventual emergence.
  • Preternatural. I think I first became aware of this word because of Anne Rice's vampire novels. Yummy creatures, vampires sure are. Well, not those that look like unbathed scavengers, but those with a genteel, dignified air. And the mucho sexy ones. With their preternatural powers, they're anomalies of nature. Sometimes I feel like one myself (an anomaly, though not necessarily a vampire) even though I eat, sleep, and go to the toilet just like everyone else.
  • Pipino. I guess using a Tagalog word is a bit unfair, but the tag didn't specifically instruct the use of English words only! A pipino is a cucumber, and here we have a side dish: sliced pipino doused with vinegar and sprinkled with peppercorn. Some people like it, some people hate it, some people are indifferent -- they don't deplore it, but after taking a bite they don't take any more. Pipino = me. That's a good analogy.
  • Paardenlul. Another foreign term, but this time it's Dutch. It means: "you horse's dick." (Learning to cuss in another language is so much fun!) Now I'm usually a sweet girl; I'm not the type to kick kittens. I saw someone do that once, and the sight made me cry. But sometimes I purposely act like a horse's dick (not literally, of course!) -- but only when someone is asshole-ic to me first. Childish, I know. But giving in to the urge to get even is so gratifying at times.
  • Pyramids. The pyramids of Egypt are an awe-inspiring sight. I don't have their majesty, their timelessness, their understated grandeur. But I like to think I have a smidgen of their endurance: though a bit worse for wear, they've withstood ravages of the natural and man-made kind. And like them, I'm fortunate to have people who care enough to help me withstand the factors that chip away at me from within and without.
  • Peter Piper. Mother Goose was one wise womanimal. While I don't pick pickled peppers, I can relate to this tongue twister. We do things and we do things and we do things and when the fruits of our labor don't manifest themselves immediately, we lose heart. My impatience annoys me a lot, but I've come a long way dealing with it baby.

Some other P words that came to me just now are: pinwheel, pinnacle, pinprick, porpoise, pestilence, patience, peanuts, Pantene (a shampoo brand). But I'm all done! And now I pass on this tag to my dearest soul sis in India, the one and only H. This crafty composition connoisseur deplores memes, but she gave me leave to tag her. So I am. H, you're It.

I didn't think about penis, but I did wonder about the fifth leg that horse has.

LOL!

Awww Lizza. I shall do it darling girl. But this paardenlul is such the coolest word! I can be soooooooo Paardenlul too. We'll make such a potent pair, won't we ;-) charging out at the world in glory.

Out of all of these, i'd like to think of you as a pyramid. enduring. grand [YES grand] and ever-fascinating -- full of the deepest, richest secrets.

A bucketful full of pee - and from the photo I can guess who was responsible.

DaddyP: Ahhh, does Gertrude fill up your buckets? Heyyy, you have a llama, I have a horse. Now to come up with a name for him.

Man, all I can think now is 'Palomino pony penis'.

Does that make me bad kitty?

Well... I´m prejudiced by the palomino picture... penis... Am I pervy???

Lizza said...

Bond: Yes, it is. We should get Sanni's evil twin to teach us a few choice ones in German.

Natalia: Welcome to the club. :-D

Puss: Bad kitty, no. Raunchy, definitely.

Matt-man: Yep, we know you love kitties!

Sanni: Probably...not!

Personally I am perfectly perturbed by the persistantly prevalent predelictions pertaining to Palominoesque penile protrusions present presently.

PS thanks for the buttony thing! Just noticed it... xxx

Ahhhh, your perturbation is perfectly understandable. I perceive Penfold prefers parts of pretty and un-pusillanimous persons who are said to purrrrrrr passionately.

And...you're welcome.

Oh come on!! You know very, very well that there's a P word that comes to mind when you first look at that photo. And I can't believe you didn't list it here!

Pony! :)

You really amaze me. I couldn't believe my eyes. Although "Lul" is a fairly common cuss word in Dutch I am a bit taken aback that you know the word "paardenlul". This is not so common anymore and shows a great interest and knowledge in the subject... ;-)
Anyway a perfect match with your picture.

You had me at pizza. :)

Lizza said...

Dan: I know, I'm so bad. And such a pretty pony it is too! ;-)

Marlayna: And if you say it in a nice way, people who don't understand won't even know you're cussing.

Michael: Why thank you. The words we make up!

Sidney: I know a few others too. I think Dutch is an interesting language to learn, but learning to pronounce the g's is difficult!

Maryanne: Mmmmm...

LOL...good one..and yes the picture provokes pursuit of a penis. (what do you want, i just go up!!! ) ;-)
Peace

I really didn't mean to provoke penile imagery. Honest! ;-)

You know, of course, that I love your posts...but I've just gotta say that reading the comments these comedians leave everyday is well worth the read as well!!! The above commentators should all get together and host a blogtalk radio show of their own. What a funny cast. TOoooooo hysterical.

P words...P words....hmmmm......I think I'll do this peme. I mean meme. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
The alliteration has begun.

Sidney said...

Ik hoop dat je ook nog andere woorden leert. Vanwaar je interesse in de Nederlandse taal? Heb je een vriendje in Nederland! ;-)

[Helping you with your Dutch. :-)]

The Rainmaker said...

PENIS should have been on your list. I can see a horse penis right there on your post.

Lizza said...

Mims: I absolutely agree, the comments that people leave can be so much fun.

Oooo, I know you'll do a good job with this one, Miss Pencil Skirt!

Sidney: Haha! I understood what you said, I really did! But I don't know how to answer back in Dutch without cheating. So I'll just say ja, I have a friend in Nederland, and I've always been interested in languages, including Nederlands. :-D

Daniel Ted: That would've been too obvious. ;-) Thanks for visiting.

This was an interesting twist on the meme! Kiyotoe tagged me, too, and I am embarrased that it is taking me so long to get to it. But I will!

Lizza said...

Oh, cool. I'm sure you'll come up with pretty interesting ones as well.
