Blogworld Saturday

I sure have missed A LOT during my involuntary hiatus from the blogosphere--and that includes last week’s Blogworld Saturday post. As of today, I still have no broadband access at home, which sucks big time.

Other happenings I sorely missed (and which I wouldn’t have if I’d had my normal connection!!!):

1. Bestest Blog of the Day awards to Ian Healy (for the
Adventures of the S-Team), Frank Sirianni and Macoosh. Ian was chosen by Morgen, Macoosh by Julie. Congratulations, my fine blog buddies.

2. Pet blogging...or more specifically, CAT blogs! Morgen’s
Daphne and INAMINI’s LOKi (and siblings) are so cute. You are such cool cats! ;-)

3. Michael C’s
100th post . Good on ya. :-) But we all have to band together and help him catch up on current events. I still have a few more to go before I reach post #100.

4. Ian finished his 100-day novel,
Deep Six. Woo hoo!

5. Sony’s post about
growing up is funny and poignant at the same time. Growing up happens, whether we like it or not. Me? Even if I live to be 100 years old (hah!) I will always be 22 in my heart.

6. Susan (nannan) has a
gripping post about how her memories of the last time she saw her son were triggered recently. Hugs to you, Sue.

7. I’m so thrilled to discover laurzeilei’s blog! Her posts are a mix of the
funny and the heart-warming. She is one kick-ass storyteller! I hope she comes back soon and writes a lot more!

8. The
Nubian Nerd’s posts are funny--hilariously and unbelievably so at times! I had a good belly laugh over his thoughts on another kind of PETA and Pfizer’s "advertising campaign." Hahaha!

9.
Aurea is one cool lady. She’s a Filipino-American who is now in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. Don’t mess with her, guys. Not only is she a grad student at MIT; she’s an aspiring boxer as well! Fantastic combination.

10. I need a laugh, and the comics on bLaugh usually makes me at least smile. This one made me giggle madly.

Happiness can be...

...spending Friday night with friends to celebrate the aging of two of them by another year, eating questionable-quality spaghetti cooked by an absent-minded but otherwise lovable gay friend, satisfying sweet teeth with adult birthday cake, keeping the local beer industry healthy, laughing until our cheeks and tummies ached, and posing for a picture before parting ways at almost six in the morning.

Have a great weekend, everyone. :-)

Lizza,
Looks like you had a great night, well with details that specific (and the picture of course), I'm assuming your Happiness really happened.

It's great to have your blog back at full speed. Have a great weekend!

that cake was un-freakin' believable!

I think it's funny in your other pic how people are holding little pots of mother in law's tongue! party favors? Great pic of you, by the way! you really looked like you were having fun!

thanks for the shout out for Ian's Bestest and for Daphne's new kitty blog!

Michael: Yep, it was a fun night! Sorry to say though, I still am NOT back at full speed. :-( Still no broadband at home. *sigh* Have a great weekend too!

Julie: Yes it is, isn't it? Haha! We bought that from a cake shop here called Kink Cakes. They actually have LOTS of designs...if you liked this one, I think you'll like the others too. ;-)

Morgen: You're welcome. Oh, is that the name of the plant? Haha, I never even knew. No, those weren't party favors...just house plants that we have. The two people holding them were the ones who had their birthdays recently and for whom the party was held.

I love the way your blog is set up, and I love the template. You're pretty creative.

I have a blog similar to how you ranked your favorite sites. My main blog is aimless-thought.blogsot.com. When you're there, you can look in the upper right for my other pages (I set it up like a regular website). Check out my Favorite Sites and lemme know what you think.

p.s. I would LOVE to have Aimless Thought placed on your site as one of your favorites. Maybe we can network. I love blogging ;-)

Looks like it was a great weekend
The company does spell great fun rather than the things done
Nothing can replace a great group of company
Hope you have a great week ahead of you
:)

Thanks for kind comments on my post about Chris---- and your prayers are much appreciated--- though i will never be totally at peace with "it", being able to let off steam helps greatly---

HAHAHAHA! It was really fun eating the kinky cake and the horrendous-tasting spaghetti although let's give credit to RC for all the effort which he does not normally do. We all had a great time! See you next event (whenever and wherever)!!!

A: Thanks! And thanks too for the invitation. I'll go visit your blog soon.

zeroimpact: It was a lot of fun--the company helped make it so. I hope your weekend was great too!

NanNan: Still not back full-force, sadly. I'm glad you were able to let off some steam, though. Queen Bee sounds nice, haha! Very apt, because my name is derived from another name that means "honeybee." :-D

Prometheus: Apparently, cakes are pornable now...I think just about everything is. Hope you had a good weekend, mon ami. I never catch you online anymore.

IM: Awwww, the spaghetti wasn't that horrendous. Just not up to his normal cooking standards. Never mind, masarap naman yung iba niyang niluto. ;-) See you guys again soon.
