Picturing

I picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong
And falling down on your knees asking for sympathy
And being caught in between all you wish for and all you've seen
And trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in

I picture a lot of things, both bad and good, at will and inadvertently. I just wish things were different. But like someone said, wishes won't wash dishes, and they can't change anything.

I know I would apologize if I could see in your eyes
'cause when you showed me myself I became someone else
But I was caught in between all you wish for and all you need

The thought of losing myself and becoming someone who I'm not is scary, and I've come perilously close to it a few times. I thank all my lucky stars for the ones who keep me anchored. Strangely, though, I've been shown aspects of myself I never imagined existed. I did like those new sides of me - mainly because they were still me.

I don't know anymore
What it's for
I'm not even sure
If there is anyone who is in the sun
Will you help me to understand?

Uncertainty doesn't necessarily equate to hopelessness, though it may feel that way sometimes. Understanding will come, hopefully from within.

May God's love be with you
Always
May God's love be with you

Whether or not you believe in God, the wishes remain true. From me to you.

Especially to you, my lovely friend Mimi. Thank you so much for everything. I love you dearly.

Also, I'd like to say that I long have been deeply enamoured of Michael Stipe's singing voice. I'd make love with it and have its babies if I could.

He's a great singer. And has had amazing staying power...

Now that's an interesting observation about the sound of a voice.

LOVE that poetic way of yours.

You know, when I read your words sometimes and the way you wrap yourself around the beauty of things that are seemingly even dark and mysteriously written, as this was, I always hear a lifeline of hope underneath - and courage - that comes from your own naked self-examination. What shines through is this remarkably kind and loving soul.
That is the real you.
And I am honored to call you my friend.

Much love,
Mimi

I'd pop over for a reassuring cuddle if I could ...... although I'd be in a lot of trouble ...... obviously.

Lovely. Take care of yourself, Lizza.

(I, too, am a huge fan of Stipe - have been since the early days. "Everybody hurts" is haunting.)
