Call Me Morticia

There, but for the grace of God, go I.

I know that sentence is uttered by some people whenever they feel thankful that they don't have it as bad as some others, but I always thought it sounded a bit condescending. I admit though that I might have thought it a few times the past week when my kids and my mom had conjunctivitis or pink eye. There I was tut-tutting and clucking like the mother hen that I am, but inwardly feeling so glib and proud because of the fact that I've never had pink eye.

Well, the last laugh's on me. I have been un-graced. I woke up today and sensed immediately that something was not quite right. I looked in the mirror and saw this. Yep, that's my eye and yep, I have conjunctivitis.

The other eye's afflicted too, but not as bad as the one in the picture. I look like a bloody vampire. Or, as my smartass friend told me, like I'm really, really stoned.

My eyes feel a bit different, but I'm glad they don't itch or hurt. I put some cool eyedrops in them (aaaahhh!), that's about it. And I look at pictures like the ones below (stolen borrowed from www.pep.ph). They sure are a sight for sore eyes. Haha.

I'm not a big fan of this local actor (probably because he has a ridiculous name), but I saw coverage of this show on TV earlier and man, he looked sizzlin' hot! The pictures look cheesy, but the video was so cool.

I'll be a better blogging buddy next week, I promise. I have lots of catching up to do. I know I've missed doing Blogworld Saturday the past few weeks, so I'll make up by sharing some great entries I've read, written by you people, in my upcoming posts.

Have a terrific weekend, everyone. Stay naughty.

I think you are always a terrific blogging buddy. It is not about the quanity of your posts or responses, it is about the quality. And while it is unlikely we will ever meet a have a beer, I consider you a friend and someone that can be counted on. Blogging buddies are very important. But so is taking time off for the "real" world. I have often (and still) say to Mimi: It is only a blog. Out it aside and address (whatever the issue is...)

You are one of the good folks Lizza. I am glad you are there for me to chat with...

Haha. Don't forget to put the drops in and you'll be as good as new in a day or two.

You just rest up and get better -- we in blogworld can wait, dear Filipina Femme Fatale!

Does this affect your vision? If yes, perhaps now is the best time to meet up - I look so much better out of focus.

Penfold: Yes, batting my crusty eyelashes makes me feel like such a vamp(ire). Be naughty yourself! Hope you get some great surfing done this weekend.

Photo: Haha! Fresh breast milk? I've never heard of that as a cure. I'll have to find a lactating cow somewhere.

Nope, that isn't Piolo. That's dingdong dantes.

Bud: Thank you, my dear. You always make me smile, whether on this blog or on yours.

silverneurotic: Haha! If only I could gross you out personally.

Eyes are better, thanks.

Kyels: But don't be too naughty! ;-)

Travis: Just a happy recommendation. Cheers!

EDC: Thanks! You're another sweet one.

DaddyP: No, it doesn't affect vision. But that's ok; my vision's all shot anyway -- with or without pink eye.

Oh sugar--I can SOOO relate. I had it bad back in February--both eyes--stuck at home for four days --massive antibiotics --and it's so gross.

Get well soon--I'll be a little extra naughty in your honor;-)

Yikes! Hope that's healing up.
(I've always hated that there but for the grace of God saying, too - as if God were deliberately targeting someone out out of spite.

Tammie Jean: Thanks, I'm all okay now. The guy is a local actor. Cute, isn't he?

H: Take a rest from blogging, dear sis. But don't leave us for too long. We'd miss you too much! You know there are lots of us who love reading your posts.

CS: Eye's back to normal now, thanks. And yes, you put it nicely indeed.
