What is Manic Monday?
A multi-blogger meme, in the spirit of Wordless Wednesday, Thursday 13, Friday Feast, and Photo Hunters Saturday.
How to participate?
Visit Morgen's It's A Blog Eat Blog World any time after 4pm EST on Fridays to discover Monday's theme word. This will be a word with multiple definitions.
Use one of the definitions to inspire your Manic Monday Post = perhaps a photograph, a story, a joke, or a stream of consciousness paragraph inspired by the word. Be creative, and have fun with it.
************
yel·low
*a color like that of egg yolk, ripe lemons, etc.; the primary color between green and orange in the visible spectrum, an effect of light with a wavelength between 570 and 590 nm.
*cowardly.
Staring in the mirror
Unhappy
at still seeing the self she wants to hide
In spite of the adornments she rarely uses:
the low-cut little black dress
the strappy high-heeled shoes
the pearls in her ears
the perfume on her wrists
and between her breasts
Tools that women have been using
throughout the ages:
for strength
for courage
for deceit
The dark eyeliner on her lower lids,
does it hide the sadness in her eyes?
The warm glow of Guerlain Divinora,
does it mask the trembling of her lips
as she thinks about the words
that she must utter tonight?
Words that need to be said
Feelings that need to be expressed
However much they go against
what her heart is crying out for
She sighs
Turns out the light
And walks out into the dark
Hoping that her armor
is strong enough
to protect her
and him.
The two of them,
from themselves.

And for painters it's a "cold" color ! Strange isn't it ?
Finally, I am able to come over to your site again!
I am back at my pad from my hometown!
Kamusta ka?
(:
Did you write this, Lizza?
Gattina: It is? I didn't know that. Thanks for visiting.
Kyels: Welcome back! I'm doing ok. Hope you're all rested and ready to blog again.
CSL: Unfortunately, yes. My mind comes up with such odd stuff sometimes, and I'm glad you guys are patient enough to read it. :-)
I thought about how yellow can mean cowardice, which then led to how some people (women in particular) try to cover it up or deal with it head on. The situation in the poem can be interpreted in whatever way by the reader.
WoW...that really got me right here...(pointing to her heart)...
Peace
Nicely done Lizza. And thanks for the shout out on Saturday. Cheers!!
Odat: That's a good thing, maybe? Glad you connected with it, but I hope it didn't make you sad.
Matt-man: Thanks and you're welcome. I get such good laughs out of your blog.
Wonderful poem, Lizza! And I love Coldplay´s Yellow =)
German connect the beautiful color yellow with "envy" - but I guess most other peoples go green with envy, don´t they? How about Pinay? What color would you turn being envy (I guess you are never envy in any way *smile*)?
Lizza: wonderful poem
You're such a talented writer - in such a brief span, you take your readers inside the character and they can empathize.
Very strong.
Thanks for participating in
Manic Monday
I always love your take on themes!

Wonderful post. I enjoyed reading it.
I love these Manic Monday posts today. Very insightful. Lovely, as always, Lizza.
Wow. Highly impressed.
You are woman.
And I am so glad you blog.
Sanni: I love this song, too.
I don't think we have a color that's associated with envy. Green would be it, perhaps (green with envy). But that's a western concept. So I learned something new today, that yellow is linked to envy in Germany.
Hope you have a great day, my dear.
Morgen: Thank you, Mr. Maniac. :-) I like this Manic Monday idea of yours.
Bond: Thank youuuuuuuu!
Crazy working mom: Thank you!
Tammie Jean: Many thanks!
Interpreter: Maraming salamat, tiya dely. Pahingi ng adobong pusit, ngingiti na ako, promise. Haha! Ayos lang ako, thanks. :-)

Imma: Thank you very much!
Mimi: Thanks, beautiful. Hope you're doing okay.
Laurz: Oh, wow. Thanks for that...you made me smile.
No, not unfortunately at all. It's sad and defiant at the same time. I really like it.
Thank you, CSL. :-)
this poem is so vivid... and sad. And I've never have put it to yellow, which makes it all the more fascinating... lovely lizza, your mind is FULL of secrets! wondering when you'll reveal more...
In good time, my dear soul sis. In good time. :-)
