Lend Me Your Ears

powered by ODEO

powered by ODEO

This audio meme comes courtesy of Wendz, who writes A Baguette on My Table. It's a tag about accents and language, so you'll get to hear some Tagalog here. There's some background noise, sorry about that. Also, Odeo isn't being nice to me nowadays; sometimes the audio loads, sometimes it doesn't. Ah, well. Thanks for the tip, Wendz.

Great to hear your voice Lizza. It's amazing, because I really figured you would have some sort of an accent, but I'm not finding one really detectable.

Lizza - the one thing you didn't mention was how come you have an American accent? It really is quite strong!

Your voice is lovely - just gorgeous and own language is beautiful - I could listen to that for ages!

Oh and I also love the words languid and sensual.

Here's a poo word for you..sepulchre.

Your confusion over how to say data etc etc is just whether to say it the American way or the English way. Either is correct. I say, for example, 'daahta', not 'dayta'.

Oh, another beautiful voice. I'm jealous - wish I had a more interesting accent than my sometimes-Southern one. I enjoyed the Tagalog, too, and also am glad to know how to pronounce Tagalog now! Thanks. (Oh, and I'm completely with you on the c-word.)

It's amazing to hear the voice of someone you've only been reading so far. Great idea. You should do more of this.

Sgt: Thanks! Chalk it up to watching Sesame Street when I was a kid. :-)

Deb: YOU should do this, too. :-)

Wendz: It isn't really unusual here; many of us speak the same way. English is the medium of instruction in most schools (the educational system is one of the positive legacies that the Americans left us), and we're exposed to lots of American TV shows. English is very widely spoken here. In fact, I know some people who can do regional American accents! :-) Thanks again for suggesting this meme.

Bond: Perhaps you'd consent to letting us hear your voice, too? :-)

Odat: You can sign up for free at http://studio.odeo.com. You can record it at that site, save it, and paste the code in the HTML part of your new post. Or you can make a recording offline and upload it to hosting sites like twango.com and fileden.com, and link to those files from there. I hope you do it!

CSL: I would LOVE to hear your voice. I don't think mine is lovely or sexy at all. But it's one way to let you guys get to know more about me a bit, and it's one way for me to get to know more about you as well.

HB: Pag nakainom, mala-Tish Addams na daw ang dating. Haha!

Thinker: Maybe you could do this as well? If you don't like the meme itself, you could do an audio post. Just to let us hear the voice behind the erudite posts.

Kyels: Like I said, I've heard you speak, but not in your language. I hope you do this! :-)

Shadowfalcon: Maybe you could do something like this, too. I want to hear the voice behind the blog!
