The best things in life are free, so they say. And one of the bestest things ever is a kiss.
I'm talking about real kissing okay, not about something silly like kissing someone's ass. I think kissing is one of the ultimate expressions of love and affection. Wasn't that why Julia Roberts' character in Pretty Woman--a hooker--would do anything a customer wanted her to, except to kiss on the mouth? That's because kissing can show the depth of one's feelings for another person. Especially if it's done for kissing's sake, not just as a prelude to something more intense (read: sex. But that's good too!)
Kissing doesn't only feel good, it's healthy too!
*It prevents cavities
*It makes skin smoother
*It burns calories
*It's a pain reliever
*It provides relief from stress
*It cures hiccups
Something that both feels good and is healthy at the same time is great! Butterfly kisses, nibbling kisses, torrid kisses, they're all great with the right person. Each one has his or her own preference. For example, Mist1, who writes To Do: 1. Get Hobby, 2, Floss, likes shoving her tongue down someone's throat (I think she has the technique patented). Then there are videos like this and this, although I must say that both of them made me laugh. (And I don't think they were supposed to.)
Wishing everyone some happy lip/tongue therapy!

Hi Lizza, thanks for stopping by my blog! You have a lovely blog going here!!! Thank you also for the early birthday wishes!!! Come visit soon again!
Congrats on winning Bestest Blog, Mimi made a good choice. :-) Thanks for stopping by too!
Kissing is, and always has been underrated, in my humble opinion. Cheers...
You see I am already back for more - lol
Bloggers definitely have the make love not war model on our minds, don't we? Now kissing is healthy, too? How fabulous! I love kissing. Don't tell my daughter. She has no idea that her dad and I still make out, let alone other things. Home I go, to commence kissing. Thanks for your post! Very cool and fun!
Who could say anything bad about kissing? Not me!!! Love it, and it makes you so happy. Mouth kisses, cheek kisses, eyebrow kisses, tummy kisses, shoulder kisses. All kisses are great fun!
After Gem's great post in favour of sex recently (of which, I keep a printed-out copy about my person in case of emergencies) and now this! Things are looking up!
I miss it.
Every slobbery, jaw-straining sweet second of it.
Sorry for being that late today...
Your post has been way too inspiring for me... especially the calories you mentioned... that 20 calories while kissing impassioned... per MINUTE! And we use up to 37 muscles - no need to be face-lifted anymore... Poor old Frank *geehee*
A kiss to build a dream on...
A man snatches the first kiss, pleads for the second, demands the third, takes the fourth, accepts the fifth - and endures all the rest.

Matt: Not by people like you and me, thank heavens.
nmotb: Great to have you back! :-D
Gale: I won't tell her. :-) Next time you're all stressed out, you know what to do for a quick picker-upper! (if you can't have some nookie)
Natalie: Oh, yes they are. Go and do a Tony-Natalie special. :-)
Bazza: See how much Gale and I care about the health of our fellow bloggers? :-D
HB: Now that is a romantic way of describing it, haha! But it's true sometimes. :-)
sanni: It's very inspiring. What a fun, fun way to exercise.
Bud: It's a good foundation for a dream. :-)
Sidney: Haha! That can't be true. Or is it? Like this one from H. Mencken: "A man loses his sense of direction after four drinks; a woman loses hers after four kisses."
Kissing ... A good theraphy? Hmmm!
XDD
*gives liz a long passionate smooch*
is it relevant where we kiss ? or does it just have to be on the lips ;)
I think full on boinking sex takes a back seat to a deep soul kiss. It's like 2 souls coming together.
This is interesting...
Now I must go get a partner to test it out
:)
But then again... such emotions are always good for the soul
Deb: Haha! Nope, one on the forehead will do just as nicely. :-)
*smooches back*
Gumby: Oh, yessss. You said it. Hey, I like that word! Boinking. :-D
kyels: Yes, science says so. :-D
ZI: Oh, wow. It's good for the mind and body--and soul? You just made it even better!
Kissing and Boinking are both good...I think w eshould celebrate them both more frequently in our culture...perhaps a National Kissing Day?

I recently was engaged in a discussion about what's worse...a bad kiss or bad sex. It was a profound conversation (as most of mine are).
I've recently tired of sticking my tongue down a certain individual's throat. I am not wasting my patented move on him anymore.
bionicbuddha: Every day should be kissing day. :-)
mist1: Wow, his loss. Which is worse? Ehh, about the same I think. :-)
Wow! I didn't know kissing has so many health benefits! Can they cure dry chapped lips too?
Hi,kisses are O.K.I always woundered which kiss is the best forehead, neck, just joking.
lots of kisses :).
Wish you well my friend
Ah, the lost art! Something we need much more of!
Those videos were rather strange..
Peace!
that frolicsome kid: I'm sure they can. It'll take a while...but that's the fun part! :-)
zingtrial:They're all good. :-) Thanks for stopping by.
odat: I thought they were funny and strange. Absence of spontaneity almost always is. :-)
It's a combination of the kiss, the surrounding environment and the mood that can be better than anything that would come next.
And unfortunately, it often is.
p.s.- I'm scared of Mist1
No, not unfortunately. If the kiss is better than what comes next, it isn't so bad. Or maybe it is. Hmmm.
P.S. She's quite a character, isn't she? I think she's fantastic. She shoved her tongue down someone's throat again, but don't tell her I told you. ;-)
Hmm..reminds me of this incident tht happened when my ex & I were sitting in this coffee shop. He was a health freak and i was puzzled to see him sachet after sachet of sugar in his coffee. When I asked him what he was up to he replied curtly. Soon we were neck deep into an argument. Finally i gave up and said in Hindi "You eat so much sugar but there is no sweetness on your tongue." He looked at me with an expression of mock disbelief and said "Of all people YOU are saying this! Don't you know how sweet I am??"
It was kinda embarrasing coz the entire coffee shop had tuned in to our argument-cum-converation.
Haha! That must've been embarrassing. No wonder he's an ex now. :-)
Nope, he was a good man. Some relationships are just not meant to be. I was all the more surprised because he was someone who maintained a lot of decorum when we together in public.
Well, there are almost always exceptions to almost everything. ;-) Thanks for sharing, Julia.
I hope you use your charm to get our Prometheus to come back to the blogging world.
