Sweet words

I'm a voracious reader... always have been, always will be. Feasting my eyes on the written word is one of my greatest pleasures. Ever since I was a kid, I had to have my hands on something to read. One of the things I love doing is curling up in bed with a good book on a rainy day. Delicious! If I have nothing new to read, no problem! I re-read something I haven't looked at in quite some time. I read in the bathroom, outdoors, while waiting in line somewhere. The one thing I can't do is read in a moving vehicle...I get carsick.

But I also like listening to how words are said. The way some words are pronounced (and the images they evoke) gives me goosebumps and sends shivers up my spine. Aural sex, anyone?
  • mellifluous
  • tintinnabulation
  • twilight
  • sensual
  • eternity
  • passionately
  • somnolescence
  • tranquility
  • susurrus
  • serendipity
  • lissome
  • sizzle
  • sublime
  • languid
  • vicissitude

*sigh*

Might I recommend the addition of "quiescence" to your list?

Yes, good word Justin!

But it kinda makes me feel hungry for some reason. :-)

Hi Lizza,

Thanks for your interest in A World of Bloggers.

I have had a read of your blog and I think it is fine.

I too am sickened by some of the child pornography that is available on the internet. In New Zealand there are dedicated law enforcement agengices that fight crimes like that. I am glad to say they are very strict on it here and it carries harsh penalties.

Anyway, I have put your blog in the Philippino spot at A World of Bloggers. Welcome!

Be sure to provide a link back to it.

Regards,

Rhys

May I add "Delectable"?

just saying the word makes my taste buds stand up and take notice.

Sounds scrumptious, Gumby!

Kinda reminds me of carrots. ;-)

Hmmm... sounds like an interesting wine tasting.

"Languid yet sensual. What do you think, Lizza?"

"You're right, Andrew. It has obtuse overtones with a hint of tranquility."

Cheese anyone?

...and I'm a voracious reader too :o)

You guys have turned aural sex into an aural buffet. :-D

Now I'm really hungry.
