Once upon a time this blog had a feature called Blogworld Saturday where various bloggers' posts during the week were highlighted. Today (though it's early Sunday morning here already) that feature comes back with just one post, one that moved me deeply. It's from My Marrakesh, written by Maryam, an American woman who lives in Morocco and who is known for her vibrant and endearing stories and images.
This week she told us about a woman called Vestine.
Vestine. An unusual name for an unusual woman. A woman who has experienced things I've never even imagined could happen to a woman. Not that way, at least.
Read her story as told by blogger extraordinaire Maryam, who spent time with Vestine and who's doing what she can to help her. When you read her story, maybe you'll find it in your heart to want to help too.
Can't change the whole world, but I think helping even just one individual like Vestine is a step in the right direction.
Click on the link to read Vestine's story.

I'll never comprehend the cruelty to be found among individuals in my species.
Maryam is one of my favorite bloggers and a friend to me. Anything written by her on a serious note as this must be significantly moving. I will go read now.
Thank you for drawing attention to her blog. She richly deserves it.
omg... it's so tragic.
thanks for sharing, liz. really.
I went. I read. I can't even comprehend this kind of evil.
It's mind boggling how cruel man can get. Will find a way to help the cause to eliminate such cruelty. Thanks for directing me to her site.
