Boo!

Just a quick update to let you guys know I'm still alive...

I've been spending some of my early morning hours sweating up a storm with Shaun T. and his Hiphop Abs. No, I am not gunning for a six-pack like his. I just thought it would be nice to find my abdominal muscles again beneath the layer of flab covering them up. I hope to get abs instead of just this one big ab that I have right now. Good thing is I seem to be losing some weight, hurrah!

The strange thing about working out is sometimes strange ideas interrupt my efforts to concentrate on my rhythm (which is next to nonexistent) and my huffing and puffing - not so much from working out as from trying to restrain myself from flipping Shaun T. the bird as he cheerfully urges me to "c'mon, give me four more!"

I wish the ideas interrupting my train-of-workout-thought were something worthwhile like, oh I don't know, maybe a solution to world hunger or a way to get a nice old git to send me a birthday present (on the 22nd, when I turn 37). But nooo. As I'm tilting, tucking and tightening and endeavoring to count steps (a huge undertaking for me since I suck at counting and all things having to do with numbers) and with sweat pouring down my cleavage (or what passes for one) and the crack of my ass, questions like "Is a cold Brazilian wax better than a hot Brazilian wax?" slither into my mind, like maggots squirming in and out of the orifices of a week-old corpse.

I'm hopeless, I know. Concentration isn't one of the handful of virtues I possess either.

I'm so looking forward to spending a few days soon with Nunu's Mum, who flew in from England a few days ago, on Boracay island in the southern part of the Philippines, where she and her husband will be opening a restaurant/bar. Oh, to feel the white sand between my toes again, the salty, balmy ocean breeze running through my hair, to bask in the shallows under the moonlight or to spend the evenings drinking myself silly in good conversation and laughter with old and new friends.

So that's some of what I've been up to recently. I hope everyone else is well and happy and kicking major butt.

Boy, when you take a hiatus you really take one huh?

Glad to hear you're grunting, groaning and learning to count! Happy New Year:-)

Thanks, Debo blue! This old dog can still learn new tricks. :-)

So glad to see you and know you are safe and sound. Looking forward to more. The exercising sounds grueling. Take care. I admire that determination of yours!

I do know that feeling of wanting to renovate and refurbish the bod. Especially now that my own single ab has conveniently tucked itself away somewhere between my first and second chin. Apparently, I would be quite a catch, if I were a Tom Turkey.
I'm still too busy investigating the significance between six-pack abs and six-pack of beer--there just has to be a connection.

Glad your back

Hey Lizza - I'm happy to see you. I've missed reading your words. Yay for getting in shape. I've pretty well resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be fat and ugly for the rest of my life. Glad to see you're making a change for the better though. Don't stay away for so long.

Mimi: Thanks, girlfriend. Hope everything is fine in NC. I'll get to that meme soon!

Frank: You always make me giggle. Incidentally, I went without beer for almost a month. I missed it so much. It was a tearful reunion.

Ian: You, fat and ugly? Puh-leeze. Great to be back, I've missed blogworld.

Kyels: Thanks! Hope you and Z come over again soon.

Your suppleness regime seems to be diminishing your subtleness when dropping hints about your birthday ......... tsk.
Anyway, I'm thinking along the lines, not of a Brazilian, but of a nice fat Cuban for you to enjoy at your leisure ........... am I going down the right lines? [not that you've got any lines of course].

Nice to see you young Lizza xxx

DaddyP: Subtlety isn't one of my strong points either. A fat Cuban? I'm not much of a cigar aficionado. Let's make it Mexican - along the lines of Jose Cuervo.

Shaun T's abs scare me...

Glad you're tackling some issues of importance - personally, I think hot wax is better.

Thanks for the update. Have a great time at the beach (sob!) and don't forget those of us who are stuck in winter.

You said "sweat pouring down cleavage" and I kind of got lost a little bit. There was something about sucking and squirming, and I know I'm on the wrong track with this post now.

I guess I'm not very good at concentration either.

Welcome back!

Nursemyra: Oh, cool. Thanks! Shot an email your way.

I prefer kickboxing, but after I had my son I lost a lot of weight doing Carm Electra's Strip Tease aerobics. I kid you not, I felt like an arse doing the moves, but it really did tone my flabbiness.

Fanatstic to hear from you Lizza. If you need someone to critique your abs, I would be more than willing to do so. Cheers Pal!!

I understand... spending time in Boracay is much more fun than writing blog posts.
Enjoy your time.
But come back soon !

Hey LIZZA,

How are you? I thought I'd say hello and wish you a great week to come. Hang in there with the Hiphop Abs. I'll be starting P90X soon so I'll be feeling your pain. Haha!

Ciao for now

Hey Lizza -- Glad to see you post again. I think January was just "too busy for posting" month around the world.

I'm playing catch-up myself.

Happy New Year!! Hope your workouts are going well. I need to find the gym again myself -- it's like Shangri-La to me these days. I know it's out there somewhere, but getting there... yeah.

Looking forward to your next post.
