Blogs longa vita brevis (sorry, Hippocrates)

I discovered some nice, nice blogs recently. Add them to the long list of reasons why I am addicted to the Internet. Yes, I'm addicted. Losing my Internet connection is one of the things that can drive me batshit (that, and having to go out in the bloody rain at 1 AM to buy cigarettes because I forgot to replenish my supply).

Back to blogs. I learned about some great bloggers through Expat Interviews. Robert is one of them. This gentleman lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and I find his blog entries (at Line of Sight) so articulate and interesting to read. He also has some great pictures (check out the beautiful Burger King they have there). Doris (Doc) is an American woman who lives in France, and her descriptions in 10, rue de la charme of the ups and downs of living there make me laugh out loud! Then there's Zoe. She is irreverent, to say the least (a woman whose blog is titled My Boyfriend Is a Twat can hardly be called reverent). I can describe Zoe's blog in one word: hilarious! No, make that two words: fucking hilarious!

Some other blogs I like visiting (in addition to the ones I already visit regularly) are:
More Cowbell. Justin is a medical student who shares some pretty thought-provoking ideas. But this person isn't above a bit of craziness sometimes. I guess studying medicine can do that to anyone, lol.
Freedom Glutton shares many of her innermost feelings -- frustration, joy, etc. -- and what life is like for a young woman in Karachi, Pakistan.

I also enjoy visiting photoblogs with nice pictures. Well, no, not just "nice" pictures (as in photos of cute little flowers and animals, although I like them too). I enjoy looking at pictures that capture a slice of life -- landscapes, candid shots, pictures capturing unexpected moments that would otherwise pass by unnoticed and unremembered. For instance:

Henry captures some of everyday scenes in Manila and shares them with us in pissedpoetpics. Sidney, another expat in the Philippines, has lots of wonderful, wonderful photos at My Sarisari Store (warning: if your sensibilities are easily offended, do not look at the Cutud, Pampanga section of his photoblog). Over at Worth a Thousand Words, Photo Cache has some beautiful pictures that were shot on a whim. I check on Bolina Family in Aussieland quite often to look at the pictures that my sister posts there since she and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia several months ago. And Benjie (a guy I've known since we were kids but reconnected only recently) has great shots of local scenes and people in his Flickr site.

Soooo many great blogs to read, so little time. *sigh*

So many cool blogs ... I think I can see my study schedule cringing in pain from all of the great reading out there.

I know, Justin. Maybe you can train Lambchop or the Honeys to help you study. Or at least to distract God enough so that he stops eating your textbooks.

Thanks for the tip....here goes my diminished productivity at work and all thanks to you (lol). Looking forward to reading more from you.

LOL photo cache!

I guess I'm a bit luckier than many when it comes to balancing work/study/blog-reading. My work has something to do with blogging! So I'm having fun. :-)

your work has something to do with blogging? i want that job! but wait (tempted to say the infomercial cliche "there's more!")...i don't even update my own blog that much! holy crap batman!

going back to the electric company, i just found out that Rita Moreno was the girl screaming her lungs out "Hey you guys!" and they might be releasing a DVD soon.

p.s.
thanks for the photoblog plug.

Hahaha Benj!

You don't have such a bad job yourself! Traveling to all those places on a great boat and taking pictures of hot chicks. :-)

Why are you still awake at this hour???

OMG, I totally forgot all about "Hey you guuuuys!" until you mentioned it.

I hope to meet up with you and Kibonks one of these days. Pag pumunta ako dyan sa Cebu pakainin mo ako ng lechon ha? With matching ice-cold SMB, of course.
